National Night Out in Austin takes place on Tuesday, October 3. During the event, the residents in neighborhoods throughout Austin and across the nation are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, firefighters, EMS medics, and Code Enforcement. Events such as cookouts, block parties, and neighborhood walks will all occur simultaneously throughout the city and nationwide.
We're looking for volunteers to host driveway parties. Please contact Marilyn Galvan northwoodsecretary@gmail.com. There is a NNO Kick-Off party on September 30 for interested hosts.
We can also request a block party by September 17, where they'll close off a section of the street.
We're planning to publicize a Neighborhood Garage Sale for Saturday, October 21.
